  • Year 5 Young Voices Trip to Wembley Arena

    Published 14/02/25

Our Year 5 students had an unforgettable experience at the Young Voices concert at Wembley Arena. The excitement was palpable as they joined thousands of other children from across the country to take part in this incredible event.

From the moment they arrived, the students sang their hearts out, performing a range of songs they had been rehearsing for months. The joy and enthusiasm on their faces were a testament to their hard work and dedication.

It was truly an inspiring event, giving our students the opportunity to be part of something spectacular. A huge thank you to the staff and parents who supported the trip—it was a night to remember!

  • A Big Welcome to Our Feathered Friends!

    Published 05/02/25

We have some chirp-tastic news - the chicks have arrived! This morning, after days of anticipation, our fluffy new friends finally made their grand entrance into the world. The children were thrilled to witness the incredible hatching process.

After working hard to break free from their shells using their egg tooth (a special little bump on their beak), the chicks started out wet and a little wobbly. But in no time, they fluffed up into the adorable, downy-soft friends we’ve been waiting for.

Fun Fact: Did you know that chicks start chirping before they even hatch? That’s right! They communicate with each other—and even with their mother—while still inside the egg!

Over the next few days, the children will have the chance to observe how the chicks grow and change. We’ll be making sure they stay warm and comfortable in their brooder while they get used to their new home.

Parents, stay tuned for more updates (and, of course, lots of cute chick photos).

  • The Chicks Are Here!

    Published 04/02/25

We have some egg-citing news, our chicks are here! Right now, the eggs are snug inside an incubator, staying warm as they prepare to hatch.

The big moment could happen anytime from tomorrow to Friday, so let the children know to keep an eye out for those first little cracks in the shells! As the chicks develop, students will notice how they use their egg tooth to break free—a process called pipping. Once hatched, they will be wet and wobbly at first, but soon, they will fluff up into the adorable little chicks we’ve been waiting for.

To help students understand this incredible process and learn the correct technical vocabulary when discussing our new arrivals, we have put up two posters and a special information sheet detailing the stages of a chick’s growth.

We can’t wait to welcome our newest school members—stay tuned for updates!
